Sewing Club!

My mother-in-law, Linda and sister-in-law, Andrea and I have started sewing club! Well, it's not an official "club" but that's what we're referring to it as! We have been getting together once a week to sew in the evenings after the kids go to bed. I am teaching myself, Annie has some experience, and Lin just is a sewing rockstar. Needless to say, we utilize her expertise and skill every chance that we get on those evenings! Below are pictures from our first night. This week will be week 4. So excited. I'll post pictures of all our creations soon!

Sea Exhibit

My friend Carrie and I took our kids to Crown Center for the free sea exhibit. It was a lot of fun. The kids were able to run around and explore all sorts of under the sea stuff followed by lunch and ice cream. They were exhausted by the end of the day = in other words, well worth the drive downtown!

Kate - 5 Months!

I know I say it every month, but wow time is going so fast. Baby Kate is 5 months old! She is getting SO stinkin' fun. She's a rolling machine as Luke likes to say and is really just so happy. Well, if she's with me! She's in a bit of a mama phase. She does fine with Justin, too, but if either of us aren't around, she gets a bit upset. Hopefully she'll grow out of it sooner than later. However, I love the little butterball to pieces, so I'm not minding it too much. : ). She's not too interested in sitting up yet and I'm not forcing it. She'll get around to it eventually. She loves to be in her jumper and watch the boys play (she's pretty mesmerized by them, actually). That's about it. Rolling, babbling, smiling, snuggling and jumping in the jumper - that's Kate in a nutshell.

Playdate

My friend Carrie had us over for a playdate this week, which was great. She has two adorable girls. Emerson is a month younger than Luke and Easton is 13 months, so they're all pretty close in age. It's been awhile since we've gotten together due to vacations, illness, and whatnot - so the "adult" time was overdue! Before we left we tried to get a picture of all the kids, but they were less than cooperative. Oh well, still some cute shots! Not one of them is interested in looking at the camera.

Yes, our son is wearing a tutu. When you have girls that are friends - that's what you do, right? I don't think Justin has had the pleasure of seeing this picture yet. LOL

More fun . . .

As I mentioned before, I'm trying to be better about artsy/crafty projects with the boys. So far, so good! They really enjoyed this week - they made spiders! And to welcome Spring, butterflies.

I love how they both cross their legs at the ankles. So cute.

Evan is getting so good with recognizing and pronouncing his letters. It amazes us how quickly they are growing! This handsome fella will be 2 in just a few short weeks. Wow.

My mom (Gigi) got the boys a huge floor puzzle last week and our little "puzzle master" really likes it. The cool thing about this particular puzzle is that it's two sided. Bonus. Thanks, Gigi!

Welcome Spring!

Spring is officially here and we are more than excited! We've been outside every day that the weather has allowed. Now if we could just get it to stick around!

A fun filled day

I've been terrible about doing fun/artsy things at home with the boys since Kate arrived on the scene. So, I have decided that things need to change. We were on a roll until the boys got sick, so let's see if I can get back on track. Here are a few pics of our recent craft/art/cooking fun! They LOVE this kind of stuff, so that should be motivation enough, right?!?!?

This was the easiest and most fun thing to make with the boys. It tasted great, too! All you need is Grands size biscuits, pizza sauce and white cheese. The outcome = mini pizzas for dinner that they proudly help make! Can't beat that!

Kate's 3 month pics and 4 month stats

Kate had an awesome photo shoot a few weeks ago and we just received the CD in the mail today. I was so excited, I had to post some of our favorites right away. We also had her 4 month check at the doctor yesterday and we are happy to report the she is growing and developing exactly as hoped. She's a big girl, just like her brothers were. She weighs 16 pounds, 13 ounces (94th percentile) and is 27 inches long (99th percentile), so she's obviously well fed! After discussing it with the doctor, there is no reason to start her on solid foods until she's 6 months old as she is sleeping through the night and is gaining weight! Sounds good to us! Oh and just because I found it interesting to look back on the boys weight at this age - Luke was 16.8 and Evan was a whopping 19.6!!!
