Evan and Kate

I'm a wee bit late in getting around to posting this . . . Evan had his 2 year check and Kate had her 6 month check last month. Both are doing fantastic and are right on track developmentally. Evan's vocabulary has improved significantly in the last few weeks. It's pretty awesome to have him ask a question and be able to understand what he's saying. Or, better yet, listen to him and Luke at night chatting away while they're falling asleep at night. So sweet. Kate is also doing great. She's growing like a weed and getting more personality every day. She still isn't sitting up unsupported but has begun rolling EVERYWHERE. If you put her on the floor and leave the room for a second, she's on the other side when you get back. So much for a quick bathroom break! Here's the breakdown on the little munchkins:
Evan is 37 inches tall (95th percentile) and 30 pounds, 8 ounces (76th percentile)
Kate is 28 inches tall (96th percentile) and 19 pounds, 4 ounces (90th percentile)

Preschool

Luke and I went to visit his future preschool last week. Before we left he was a little hesitant. I told him that we were going to Chick-fil-A for lunch and playtime with Grandma Lin after and he was fine. I must admit, I was nervous, too. It's hard to believe that he's old enough to be attending preschool next year! After the visit, Luke and I both felt great. He actually didn't want to leave! I believe that we have found a great place for our big boy to go to school next fall. Wow.

Sprinkler fun

The weather warmed up for a short while and we took full advantage and broke out the sprinkler. The boys loved it! They ran through it briefly last summer, but they didn't really care for it then. I'm sure this will become an almost daily occurrence in our backyard this summer!

Kate - 6 months

Kate turned 6 months old on the 22nd. She is getting so big! She's a rolling machine, babbles, and is getting pretty good at sitting up. We started her on cereal about 2-3 weeks ago and she's slowly getting the hang of it. She still pushes a lot of it out with her tongue, so it's definitely a learning process. Overall, she is a super happy and easy baby. We love her : )!!!

Easter Extravaganza!!!

Happy Easter!!! We have had such a great weekend with family. Justin had to work Saturday and Sunday morning (bless his heart), so we missed him very much at my mom's today. However, he was able to be with us Saturday night at his parents house for Easter dinner. The boys had an awesome time searching for eggs this year. Both my mom and MIL had a designated color for each kid so there was an equal number of eggs for each kiddo, which means no arguing! Bonus! There are LOTS of pictures from our weekend. Enjoy!

This picture speaks for itself. Luke was feeling less than cooperative this morning while I was trying to take their picture in their Easter outfits. Still pretty cute though!

Evan is 2!

Sometimes it blows my mind that our little Evan is two! On the other hand when you look at Kate (who is almost 6 months old) it kind-of makes sense! Anyway . . . Evan is such a joy to be around. He is talking more and more each day and has a very funny personality and disposition. Luke and him play together very well and also argue very well! No, they get along quite well, actually. Of course they have their moments, but they love each other very much. Evan is super cute with Kate. Every night before bed he wants me to bring her over to his bed so he can get her to laugh or have her touch his face. It's so sweet, really.

For his birthday Justin and I took him out to the Legends so that he could build a dinosaur (something we did with Luke a while back and Ev has been wanting one, so that was perfect) and eat at the T Rex cafe. Building the dino went off without a hitch, but then when it came time to go eat the boys were having NO part of it! Every 10 to 15 minutes there is a thunderstorm and the dinosaurs move and roar. Apparently that is a little too scary for Luke an Evan. Oh well, maybe some other time . . .

This is the only picture of Kate that day - just to show that she was in fact present during the birthday celebration! So . . . Luke wanted to keep tabs on Evan. This didn't last too long. : ) Before heading into build a dino All is good so far... Evan wasn't too sure about the "un-stuffed" dinosaur. He wanted the finished version, but he came around. Putting the heart in.

Ev's 2nd Birthday Party!

First off - be prepared for LOTS of pictures!!! We had so much fun at Ev's birthday party. He wanted a train party, which he adores, so that's what we had! My amazingly talented cousin, Blair, made the cake and cupcakes. Words do not describe how delicious they were!!! We had lunch which consisted of turkey sandwiches, train PB & J's, pasta salad, fruit, veggies, and chips and salsa. Yummy . . . then of course, the oh so tasty dessert! The pictures speak for themselves...
