Last field trip!

Luke (his last pre-school FT!!) and Evan had their end of the year field trip at Deanna Rose a few weeks ago. Grandma Lin went with us and we had so much fun. We filled our day with pony rides, feeding the goats, playing at the playground and a wagon ride. The best. It was a great school year and I am still wondering how it went so fast? Is it really Summer!?!

A taste of Summer and being thankful

The weather has not been very cooperative over the past week or so. I thought by now we would have been to the pool at least a few times. But, no, it's been too cold and rainy. The cold is frustrating, but the rain is just annoying. Enough rain already, we want some sun and pool time. Enough fussing. 
The kids have been begging to get to the pool, but since that isn't an option, we adjusted our water play and turned to the sprinkler. It was not planned. The kids and I were eating lunch on the deck and I decided to surprise them with it afterwords. Hints the play clothes and not swimsuits. They were surprised and had an absolute blast. They would have stayed out there all day. I may have let them if it weren't for mud pits and blue lips. Another day kiddos, another day. 

As I sat on the steps taking pictures and watching them play, I soaked them in. Their happiness, playfulness and love for each other. I feel so incredibly blessed to be their mom. I feel so lucky to be able to spend the time with them that I do. 

They are precious gifts from God and I am so thankful for them.

Pre-school Graduation

Luke had his Pre-school graduation a couple of weeks ago. It was such a fun night. Poor guy was not feeling 100% and got up there and preformed with all he could. Little did I know he would be running a 102 fever when we got home - MOM FAIL. It's all behind us now and I'm glad we all (me) got the experience. Luke had a fantastic year and learned so much. My heart is so torn between excitement and fear for him to begin this next chapter. At times he still seems so little and too young to be gone from me all day, five days a week. Then, on the other hand, I see him hold his own plenty of times throughout the day. He will prosper, I'm sure. I just can't believe it's time to turn him over to someone else for so many of hours of his day. I pray that God guides him to make wise choices and to trust in Him. I also pray that Luke is placed with a loving and kind teacher that will help him feel safe and cared for as he begins KINDERGARTEN!(I may have just cried).

Luke, we love you more than words can express and we are so impressed with the young man that you are growing up to be. Continue to be a sweet and loving boy and you will go far.

First T-ball Game!

Luke's first t-ball game was on 5-4-13 (I'm a little behind!). I forgot my camera that night, shame. He did great and had so much fun. He has improved so much since last year. All the kids still run to the ball when there is a hit (regardless of what their position is), but it's cute and comical to watch. It's been interesting having two in sports at the same time, but we're managing. I'm so happy that Luke's happy and he's having a blast. Here's to crazy sports schedules from here on out. 

Trip to the Zoo

J and I took the kids to the zoo on Tuesday. The weather was amazing and it wasn't crowded. It was the first time that J had been to the zoo since we moved back to KC. We had so much fun. We headed to Africa (the back 1/2 of the zoo) and spent the whole day there checking out the animals and having lunch. It was a great workout for all of us. Needless to say, we all slept great that night. (left the big camera at home - phone pics had to do).

Kindergarten Round-up

Last week was Kindergarten round-up at Luke's elementary school (OMG, elementary school!?!). My mom was able to watch Ev and Kate so that Justin and I could take Luke by himself. He did awesome. There was a video to watch, "A day in the life of a kindergartner" which showed how the day started, lunch, recess, dismissal, etc... goes, then we headed off to a classroom to meet the kindergarten teachers and explore the classroom. The school was super cute and the teachers seem sweet. I held it together, but I am SO nervous and excited for Luke. He just seemed so small in that big building. They are offering a Yahoo or a Boohoo breakfast the first morning for the parents of kindergartners . . . I wonder which I will be?!?! I'm sure Luke will do great . . . at least that is what I will be praying for. Oh my sweet, sweet boy. You're growing up fast. I love you so much. 

Daddy Time

With the weather being warmer over the weekend, we were drawn to the Plaza. Justin took us all down for a little shopping, lunch and some fountain spotting. The kids always love the Plaza because it generally means dessert and throwing coins in the fountains. As usual, they were not disappointed. Oh and as an added bonus, the tulips are in bloom. Could it be . . .

Is it possible that Spring is FINALLY here?!? The last week has been amazing weather! I can't believe that the temperature is dropping into the 30's by tomorrow. As I type this it is 79 degrees and sunny. Ugh, weather please stay nice. Let us have our Spring. We want more days like pictured below. Thank you. 

Bubbles! What kind-of warm day would it be without bubbles? Not a normal one. The boys are finally getting the hang of it.

Fire Station

Luke's class had a field trip to the fire station a couple of weeks ago. It was so cute. The kids were able to meet a couple of fire fighters, go through the fire engine and see how a fireman dresses during a fire. It was super cool and Luke thought it was a blast. I can't believe my guy is headed to Kindergarten in August. Wow.
